Noordhoek at a glance

Residents in Noordhoek have made it their mission to retain the sensitive balance of agricultural, rural and residential living that makes Noordhoek such a sought after suburb today.

Situated a good 25 minutes away from Cape Town’s bustling city centre means that residents are well and truly able to enjoy the slow-paced lifestyle one would find in more remote areas while still being close to amenities on offer in the Mother City.

Noordhoek lies on the Atlantic coast at the southern end of Chapman’s Peak Drive and is one of the few places left in the city where one can still hear owls hoot at night.

Noordhoek has attracted a blend of modest cottages and luxury homes that offer inspiring views over Long Beach, which stretches for over 8 km of wide sandy, unspoiled beach that borders on wetlands and eventually links up with Kommetjie. Locals ride their horses here and the dunes are popular with dogs and children alike.

Farms located in Noordhoek still supply many shops, restaurants and burgeoning farmer’s markets with locally grown wine, organic produce, meat and eggs. We are reluctant to share our secret here but word around town is that the best place for a spot of tea or hearty family-friendly breakfast is the Noordhoek Farm Village.

Neighbouring suburbs are Kommetjie, Scarborough, and Fish Hoek.

House prices continue to rise and listing times drop as ongoing semigration fuels the market in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs
04 Dec 2023
Since the revival of semigration in 2021, the surge in market activity in the Southern Suburbs has continued unabated with the steady rise in demand leading to a drop in the time properties are spending on the market as well as a declining gap between asking and selling price.
