R2.18 million for a one-bedroom flat in a new Cape Town development

Currently under construction with an expected completion date in March 2024, The Rubik, will be offering luxury one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, as well as penthouses, office spaces, high-end retail spaces, and more.

The glass-cubed skyscraper in the CBD will be 27 floors high, and buyers can expect to pay a hefty R2.18 million for a one-bedroom apartment. The most expensive penthouses will go for over R16 million.

The company has said that the ceiling-to-floor window apartments and penthouses will "offer interiors flooded with natural light and spectacular views across the city [and are] ideal for discerning individuals who appreciate elegance and unique, modern architecture."

The interior design of the glass building is expected to have wood, stone and glass finishes to complement the Rubik's contemporary design and style.

"Meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship is evident in every aspect of these fine apartments," said the company.

One-bedroom apartments measure 40-square-meter, while two-bedroom apartments come in at 73-square-meter.

The penthouses on offer range from a 113-square-meter penthouse priced at R7.65 million, while the most expensive penthouse, at almost 250-square-meters, on the 25th floor comes with a hefty price tag of R16.35 million.

The Rubik will be pet friendly and boast a communal rooftop pool and braai area, commercial spaces, 24/7 concierge security, and access to short and long-term rentals.

If views are what you are after then the 360-degree views from the residential units on the building's upper nine floors are surely set to impress - residents will be able to enjoy views of Table Mountain, Lion's Head, Devil's Peak, and the V&A Waterfront.

The project is being developed by Abland and was designed by renowned architects, dhk architects. The project broke ground in 2021.
