Constantia at a glance

Situated in the Southern Suburbs, Constantia is one of the most popular residential suburbs in Cape Town. The area offers large plots of land and generously-proportioned homes.

The peaceful, tree-lined streets of Constantia has established the area is a perfect setting to raise children in and has thus ensured that properties and amenities here are centered around family life.

Constantia, like many of the other areas in the Southern Suburbs, has a strong sense of community. Historical homes border the original vineyards that make up one of the Cape’s oldest wine routes. It includes the cellars of Groot Constantia and Simon van der Stell’s original farm.

The area is dotted with scenic hiking and mountain biking trails - from the popular Alphen Trail near the Alphen Hotel and the Sillery walk along the Spaanschemacht River. The Tokai forest is also popular with mountain bikers

A firm favourite with botanists and concert-goers alike, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are not just a botanical splendour that has to be seen, it is also the setting of the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts.

Schools in Constantia

The area is in close proximity to the University of Cape Town, and some of the top schools in the country including Rondebosch Boys, Rustenberg Girls, SACS, Hershel Girls School, Bishops Diocesan College , Westerford High School and Reddam House.
